Objection to Publication Data in the Electronic Insolvency Register

This service allows any interested party to file an objection with the Registrar regarding any of the publication data held in the Electronic Insolvency Register.

Who can use this service

Creditors, debtors, insolvency trustees, and any other interested party.

How it works

Before using this service

Prepare the following information and documents before submitting the certificate or extract request through the official service channel.

Requirements

  • An objection to any of the publication data in the register must be filed with the Registrar within five working days of the date the data was published in the register.

Documents and supporting information

  • An objection request containing the following:
  • The date of the objection.
  • The name of the person filing the objection and the capacity in which they act.
  • Contact details for the applicant, including email address and telephone number.
  • The date of the publication being objected to.
  • A statement of the substance of the objection and its grounds, including any claim that the publication is incorrect or that the data it contains is inaccurate.
  • Notification and communication with the applicant take place electronically, through the unit’s email address. In justified cases, other means of communication available to the Department may be used.

Steps to complete

Review the steps below to understand where each part of the certificate or extract request process is completed.

Submit the objection by email

  • The applicant submits the objection request, with its attachments, by email.
  • If the request is complete and filed within the accepted legal period, the reviewing officer refers it, with its attachments, to the Registrar.
  • The Registrar issues a decision within five working days and submits recommendations to the Controller, who issues a decision on the objection within five working days of receiving them.

Notify the applicant of the Controller’s decision by email

  • The reviewing officer notifies the applicant of the Controller’s decision electronically within two working days of the date it is issued.

  • 12 working days from the date the application requirements are complete.
