According to the official website of the Ministry of Government Communication, the Controller General of the Companies Control Department, Dr. Wael Al-Armouti, affirmed that the Department has achieved significant progress in digital transformation and improving the business environment.

These achievements have contributed to accelerating company registration procedures and enhancing corporate governance, in direct alignment with the objectives of the Economic Modernisation Vision, particularly its focus on improving the business start-up environment.

Speaking at a forum organised by the Government Communication Forum on Tuesday under the title “A Stable Investment Environment,” Al-Armouti explained that company registration procedures now take less than one hour. Electronic registration is available for all types of companies, including foreign companies and private shareholding companies. The Department has also enabled companies to be registered and their electronic accounts activated in a single step.

He noted that the Department has successfully facilitated the electronic convening of companies’ general assembly meetings for the sixth consecutive year. Meanwhile, it receives and processes approximately half a million electronic applications annually, completing more than 2,500 applications per day.

As part of its efforts to further develop digital services, Al-Armouti explained that more than 100,000 company information records have been issued around the clock without human intervention. In addition, an updated version of the Beneficial Ownership Register has been launched, enabling data exchange through the secure government network. More than 1,000 beneficial ownership disclosures have also been received since the beginning of the current year.

Regarding economic performance, Al-Armouti highlighted that the Department recorded unprecedented figures in the annual number of newly registered companies in 2025. This was accompanied by an increase of more than JOD 1 billion in companies’ capital and a notable decline in the number of companies undergoing liquidation.

He added that companies’ compliance with corporate governance principles has improved significantly, with more than 89% of companies updating their financial information. These efforts have been accompanied by the continued implementation of audit and oversight plans, further strengthening transparency and confidence in the business environment.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Government Communication, Dr. Zaid Al-Nuwaiseh, stated that the Government had submitted an economic performance summary to both Houses of Parliament, highlighting tangible improvements in economic indicators across various sectors, including company registration.

Al-Nuwaiseh emphasised that the Companies Control Department contributes to creating a safe and stable business environment and supporting investment through its continued efforts to develop economic legislation in line with evolving needs and developments.

He also highlighted Jordan’s growth in company registrations, reflecting the attractiveness of its investment environment and the effectiveness of government efforts.

The forum discussed the Companies Control Department’s key areas of work, including simplifying company registration procedures, corporate governance, combating money laundering and terrorist financing, insolvency, and the electronic services provided by the Department. These efforts aim to streamline procedures and facilitate essential services for investment projects, while promoting growth in company registrations and strengthening the Department’s role in creating an attractive investment environment.
