The Director of the Controller General’s Office is responsible for managing the administrative functions, correspondence, scheduling, and overseeing the activities of the Controller General’s Office.

Duties of the Director of the Controller General’s Office

  • Ensuring timely and appropriate responses to matters received by the Office and following up with the relevant parties.
  • Overseeing all incoming and outgoing correspondence for the Controller General, including review, signature tracking, and referral to the relevant directorates or entities.
  • Managing the preparation, printing, and review of all routine and confidential correspondence for the Office.
  • Maintaining books, materials, scientific publications, and circulars relevant to the Controller General in an organized and accessible manner.
  • Opening and maintaining indexed and organized files and records for matters received by the Office, with regular follow-up.
  • Preserving the confidentiality of information contained in the files and records used by the Office.
  • Managing the Controller General’s appointments, visits, and daily and weekly schedules.
  • Coordinating appointments for the Controller General’s private and official visitors.
  • Handling telephone communications to and from the Office, including arranging calls with senior officials such as ministers, members of Parliament, senators, and other senior officials.
  • Following up on all travel matters for the Controller General, including preparing official correspondence and obtaining visas and travel tickets, in coordination with the Media Unit.
  • Coordinating and following up on preparations for meetings requiring the Controller General’s attendance.
  • Following up on committees chaired by the Controller General, including preparing meeting invitations, agendas, and minutes.
  • Filing and storing meeting decisions, instructions, and circulars in a manner that allows for easy reference.
  • Preparing internal memoranda related to the Controller General’s internal and external work.
  • Following up with directors of directorates and units within the Department on incoming and outgoing correspondence, internal memoranda, and the completion of required actions related to the Office.
  • Performing any other duties assigned.
