The Controller General of Companies participated in the Accounting Excellence Competition for Jordanian Universities, organised by the Jordanian Association of Certified Public Accountants and hosted by Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, with the participation of 24 Jordanian universities from across the Kingdom.
The competition formed part of national efforts to bridge the gap between academic education and labour market requirements, enhance accounting students’ competencies, and prepare them professionally to meet the needs of the financial and economic sectors.
The event featured specialised knowledge-based competitive rounds that demonstrated the high level of competence and readiness among accounting students in Jordan. It also highlighted the importance of professional certifications in supporting graduates’ career development and strengthening their competitiveness in local and international labour markets.
The competition results were as follows: the University of Jordan secured first place, Philadelphia University came second, Princess Sumaya University for Technology ranked third, and the World Islamic Sciences and Education University placed fourth. The winning teams were honoured and awarded cash prizes, alongside training and professional development scholarships for participants.
The Companies Control Department’s participation reaffirms its support for national initiatives that contribute to advancing the accounting profession, developing young professionals’ competencies, strengthening the business environment, and equipping the national economy with qualified talent.
