Insolvency Trustee Licence Application

This service is available to those seeking a licence to practise as an insolvency trustee.

Who can use this service

Applicants who have passed the insolvency trustee licensing examination and wish to be licensed as insolvency trustees.

Prepare the following information and documents before submitting the certificate or extract request through the official service channel.

Requirements

Where the applicant is a natural person:

  1. The applicant must be of Jordanian nationality.
  2. The applicant must have reached the age of thirty on the date the application is submitted.
  3. The applicant must hold a university degree in economics, business administration, law, accounting or engineering, and have at least five years of practical experience in their field.
  4. The applicant must not have been convicted of a felony, or of a misdemeanour involving moral turpitude or public morals and ethics.
  5. The applicant must complete the training course in accordance with the conditions and requirements set by the Committee.
  6. The applicant must pass the examination prescribed for licensing.
  7. The applicant must provide the civil liability guarantees stipulated in Article 56 of the Law and of the Regulation.

Where the applicant is a legal person:

  1. It must be registered as a civil company owned by two or more persons who meet the conditions set out for a natural person above, and the company must provide the guarantees stipulated in item 8 of those conditions.
  2. At least one licensed natural person must work in the company as an insolvency trustee.

The following also apply:

  • An insolvency trustee’s licence is cancelled by decision of the Committee where any of its conditions ceases to be met, and the competent authority is notified of the cancellation so that it can be circulated to the courts.
  • The licence runs for two years from the date the insolvency trustee is entered in the Register of Insolvency Trustees.

Documents and supporting information

  1. The licence application, using Form ( ).
  2. The civil liability guarantees.
  3. A recent certificate of no criminal record.
  4. The certificate of attendance at the training course qualifying for an insolvency trustee licence.
  5. The form notifying the applicant that they have passed the examination qualifying for an insolvency trustee licence.

Steps to complete

Review the steps below to understand where each part of the certificate or extract request process is completed.

Submit the licence application with the necessary documents attached

  • The licence application is submitted to the Unit using the form approved by the Committee, signed by the applicant or, where the applicant is a legal person, by its authorized signatory.
  • The applicant attaches to the application the documents proving that they meet the licensing conditions set out in the Law and the Regulation.

Pay the fees once the requirements are met

Where the applicant meets the conditions and requirements set out in the Law and the Regulation, the Committee issues its licensing decision. That decision does not take effect until the following are completed:

1. Payment of the licence fees.

2. Provision to the Unit of the civil liability guarantees, in the form of either a bank guarantee or an insurance policy, on the terms, in the form and in the amount set out in the licensing decision.

3. Completion of any special conditions included in the licensing decision.

Where the licence application is refused, the applicant is notified.

The natural person takes the oath before the Committee

The natural person takes the oath before the Committee, and the insolvency trustee is then entered in the Register of Insolvency Trustees maintained for this purpose at the Unit.

Fees and processing time

Service fees

  • JOD 250 per examination
  • JOD 500 on first licensing as an insolvency trustee, where the applicant is a natural person
  • JOD 500 on first licensing as an insolvency trustee, where the applicant is a legal person

Processing time

  • According to the date set for the meeting of the Insolvency Trustees Committee.

What you receive

Entry in the Register of Insolvency Trustees maintained for this purpose at the Unit, the issuance of an insolvency trustee licence certificate, and correspondence to the judicial authorities.
