Company Registration Requirements
Overview
Before starting a company registration application, applicants should prepare the information, supporting documents, and approvals required for the type of company they intend to register.
Requirements and registration procedures vary depending on the company type, proposed business activities, partners, and circumstances of the application.
This guide provides an overview of some of the information and documents applicants may need to prepare before submitting a company registration application to the Companies Control Department.
Prepare Your Company Information
Before starting your application, prepare the information required for the type of company you intend to register.
For electronic registration of a Limited Liability Company, you will need to enter company information, including:
- Company objectives and business activities
- Information related to the memorandum and articles of association, including any special powers or provisions, where applicable
- Information related to the company's incorporation
- Details of the person authorized to use the company's electronic services
- Proposed company names — the name must be derived from the company's stated objectives. For more information, see Choosing a Company Name
Other company types may require different information and registration procedures.
Identify the Person Authorized for Electronic Services
When registering a Limited Liability Company, General Partnership, or Limited Partnership electronically, you must provide information about the person authorized to use the company's electronic services.
For a Limited Liability Company, this information is entered together with the company's incorporation information.
Check for Restricted Nationalities
If one of the partners holds a nationality subject to restrictions, the Ministry of Interior must be formally contacted as part of the registration process.
Restricted business activities under ISIC 4 must also be taken into account.
Understand How the Registration Process Works
Registration procedures depend on the company type.
For a Limited Liability Company, the electronic registration process includes:
- Access the Companies Control Department website, create an account, and sign in
- Select Limited Liability Company from the available company types
- Enter the required information
- Attach supporting documents and any required approvals, where applicable
- Enter information related to the memorandum and articles of association, including any special powers or provisions, where applicable
- Enter information related to the incorporation record and the person authorized for electronic services
- Save the application to review or complete later, or submit it for review
- Enter proposed company names, ensuring the name reflects the company's stated objectives. See Choosing a Company Name for the applicable naming requirements
- Follow the application status, make any requested changes, and wait for required approvals, where applicable
- Complete the required signing procedures
- Pay the applicable fees electronically
After payment, the application is completed and a text message is sent containing the company's national number, username, and password.
Follow Your Application Status
For electronically submitted Limited Liability Company, General Partnership, and Limited Partnership registration applications, applicants receive a notification by mobile phone or email containing the application number.
The application may then have one of the following statuses:
- Under Review – the application is being reviewed
- Awaiting Data Amendment – review the note on the application and make the required changes
- Awaiting Approvals – the relevant authorities have been contacted electronically for the required approvals
- Complete – Awaiting Signature – complete the required signing procedures
- Awaiting Payment – pay the applicable fees electronically
